From 18 to 21 July, in the courtyard of Palazzo Caetani in Cisterna di Latina, the Cisterna Film Festival is ready to go with a high-level selection and several professionals of the film industry.

The opening night (July 18) will host the Spanish actress Sonia de la Antonia, one of the interpreters of the short film winner of the Next Generation section “El niño qui queria volar”, directed by Jorge Muriel. The actress as well as receiving the award directly from the hands of the teens who elected her as the best, will also be a teacher: she will in fact hold the usual free cinema workshop for under 18s, which will be held in the City of Hall – Sala delle statue in the afternoon on 18 July, and for which registrations are open (for info and subscriptions write to staff@cisternafilmfestival.com).

They also confirmed the participation of Clemente Pernarella, actor, cinema-television-theatre director, and director of the Fellini Theatre in Pontinia. He will attend on Friday 19 July. And Alex Polidori, actor and dubber (official Italian voice for Tom Holland and Timothée Chalamet, as well as numerous characters from animated films), who will join us on Sunday 21 July for the last night.

In addition, there will be several directors, producers and distributors in the competition during the festival.

The literature appointment can’t miss. An old friend of us will attend the Cisterna Film Festival. It’s the critic and selector of the Venice Film Festival Emanuele Rauco, who will present his work “Beautiful Freak – Le fiabe nere di Guillermo Del Toro” (“Beautiful Freak – Guillermo Del Toro’s black fairy tales”) on Saturday 20 July at 7.30 pm at the library Voland, on Corso della Repubblica. The book retraces and analyses the marvellous, daring adventure of a unique author in the modern panorama. Born in Guadalajara half a century ago, he arrived in Hollywood during a voracious thirty-year-long expressive search and today he is the undisputed lord of the fantastic.

During the closing night, July 21, the jury will be present and, after the vision of the 17 short films in the competition, will award the prizes to the winners. The professionals chosen this year are five, engaged in different fields of the film industry: Selene Caramazza, an actress who made her debut as protagonist at the cinema with “Cuori Puri” by Roberto De Paolis presented at the Quinzaine des Realisateurs of the Cannes Film Festival, and who has a part in the new season of Montalbano. Emanuela Mascherini, actress, writer and director. Author of the short film “Come la prima volta”, selected for the Nastri d’Argento and presented at I LOVE GAI, Young Italian Authors, during the last Venice Film Festival. Susanna Pellis, critic, creator and artistic director of the Irish Film Festa, a festival in Rome completely dedicated to the Irish Cinema. Toni Trupia, director and screenwriter, among the authors of the films “Vallanzasca” and “7 minuti” by Michele Placido; and the director of “Itaker – Vietato agli italiani”. Ciro De Caro, director and screenwriter, author of the films “Spaghetti Story” and “Acqua di Marzo”.

Palazzo Caetani will open its doors at 18.30 for Simone Olivieri’s photo exhibition and it will be possible to collect the complete evening program at the reception desk.

Like every year since its foundation, the Cisterna Film Festival will be once again run by Renzo Di Falco, speaker of RDS, who will be extraordinarily supported by the radio host Viviana Rapisarda on Saturday 20 July.

Only a few days left to the International Short Film Festival, cinema of quality is coming back in Cisterna di Latina!
