We have the first winner of the fifth edition of the Cisterna Film Festival. Again this year, the adventure has started with the Next Generation section. For the second consecutive year, the screening of the six short finalists took place directly between the school walls, on June 4th at the auditorium of the Plinio il Vecchio middle school.

Bringing cinema into schools is a proven success formula: young people always react with a great interest, involvement and participation. And so it was also this time, not only during the screening of the short films but also later, when it was time to discuss and reason about what they had seen.

The victory was overwhelming: the guys’ favourite was El niño que quería volar (Spain) by Jorge Muriel, who got almost 70% of the preferences. Set in a 1980s Madrid, the little protagonist Ivan, a five-year-old boy, is facing the birth of a new brother. His sister is Dad’s favourite, while the new-born is Mom’s favourite. And what place does he occupy in this new family structure? What if he could fly and escape?

Second and third place, Il mondiale in piazza (Italy) by Vito Palmieri and Guaxuma (France-Brazil) by Nara Normande.

The appointment is now from 18 to 21July at Palazzo Caetani, with the projections of the other categories of the Cisterna Film Festival, guests, awards, collateral events and much more!
