After two years of large numbers, the Cisterna Film Festival – International Short Film Festival has come back in its third edition. Once again It has been organized by the Cultural Association “Mobilitazioni Artistiche” (Artistic Mobilizations) of Marianna Cozzuto in cooperation with the artistic director Cristian Scardigno. The new call will be open from January 31st until March 31st 2017, and it will be addressed to filmmakers, companies, cultural associations, schools and video artists, with the aim of enhancing and promoting the art of short-film and give the greatest possible visibility to the authors.
The festival was born from the desire and commitment of a few young people and it has revealed from its first steps an international appeal and a wide success. Thanks to it, Cisterna di Latina has had, even if only for few days, a cinema. The latest edition has experienced an unbelievable number of subscribers; about 4200 works arrived from 120 countries in the world, and it caught the public’s interests, with 600 spectators in three nights.
The three categories of last year have been reconfirmed: the OFFICIAL one, the non-competitive VIDEOART and the competitive NEXT GENERATION, in which there will be films selected by the artistic direction, addressed to an audience of children and young people under 18. The news of the year is the entry of the section FOCUS ON, destined to short films about one specific country chosen by the artistic direction according to embassies and/or cultural institutions, a mini review to give light on a reality of the world.
The works, which will be chosen at the strict discretion of the artistic director, will be screened in the different spaces of the historic Palazzo Caetani in July in Cisterna di Latina.
