Finally, the long work of selection of the shorts sent to attend to the second edition of the Cisterna Film Festival – International Short Film Festival, organized by the Cultural Association “Mobilitazioni Artistiche” (Artistic Mobilizations) of Marianna Cozzuto, with the pontine Cristian Scardigno’s artistic direction, is over. On August 19th, 20th and 21st, the courtyard of the historic Palazzo Caetani in Cisterna di Latina, will host the screenings of short films selected by the Direction and the award ceremony.
Twenty-one films in competition, six in the non-competitive category Videoart and other six intended for the Next Generation (Youth Section), absolute novelty of this new edition, which will involve young viewers in the role of jurors. Many Italian and European previews among the selected titles, and many pleasant surprises including films from Cannes, Toronto, Sundance and Tribeca, as well as the David di Donatello and Nastro d’Argento’s finalists and a candidate in the last Oscar Awards.
The Cisterna Film Festival has lived, in just two years, a huge growth thanks to the public and aspirants, to privates willing to invest in culture and in the show business, and to the public bodies. This year, in particular, the festival can vaunt not only numerous sponsors, but also the Regione Lazio sponsorship.

The number of short films submitted to the test of the Direction was considerable and increasing compared to the past: about 4,200 films from 124 countries around the world. In the competitive section, a jury of film industry professionals will vote on the best short film in competition, while a second winner will be chosen directly by the public. Coming soon, more information about side activities and events not yet defined, while the complete program of screenings is complete.
