Finally, we communicate officially the dates of the second edition of the Cisterna Film Festival: this year the independent film festival will take place in August, exactly on 19th, 20th and 21st, with many new features that we will notify you hereafter. However, we are able to reveal up until now the new image of the festival. This year the pontino artist Luca Ferullo creates it. Here is a statement about his work, which is entitled “Nelle pieghe del multiverso” (In the multiverse folds).
“The idea of a small suspended skyline in a space without time or place reached only by some movie films seemed to me well representing the idea I have about a portion of the cinema. I have used the buildings composing the skyline also as the representation of man and his genius. By placing them on a sort of floating island is like putting the man in an imaginary place, disconnected from the rest of the world. An island where everything can happen, where imagination and emotions can take over. The only way to reach the island is through the rolls of film that become a sort of stairway, much like in the fable of the Beanstalk where the bean plant grows skyward reaching the giant’s home. The films, however, are not connected with the earth, because in order to enter into the fantasy dimension you should leave behind any rational wish and be carried away by instinct and emotions. Unconsciously Miyazaki’s imaginary has had its role.”
