Great start for the Cisterna Film Festival, which for this fourth edition has been partly renewed by dedicating a whole day to the Next Generation section, dedicated to under 18. The screening of the finalists of this category was held on June 7 at the auditorium of the Plinio il Vecchio middle school in Cisterna, full of very young curious students interested in the vision.

After the screening, the guys wore the clothes of jurors and voted for their favourite: it has been crowned with an overwhelming victory Il tratto, with almost 70% of the votes. The short film, which took part in the 2017 Venice Film Festival competing for the MigrArti Award, features Federico, an eleven-year-old boy who lives in a small town in the North of Italy. Silent and thoughtful, he is invisible for his companions and for his parents. The meeting with an old Senegalese artist will help Federico to discover his talent and learn to see others for what they are: people with their own story made of silent details, which can only be told by those who can look. A modern fairy tale about friendship, about the details that make it unique, about knowing how to observe and tell people for what they are: stories. And above all, this victory makes us reflect on how the new generations welcome the theme of immigration, tolerance and integration, which is so much discussed in these times.

Second place for Shadower(which deals with the issue of bullying among the youngest) and third place for the moving comedy Il dottore dei pesci.

Next appointment? From19th to 22nd July at Palazzo Caetani with the official competition, the award ceremony of the winners and all the news of this new edition of the Cisterna Film Festival.
